'Be On The Lookout': Bay Area Burglars Target Women, Police Warn
South San Francisco police warned that an auto burglary crew was singling out women walking to their vehicles.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Police were warning Bay Area residents that a group of burglars was possibly targeting women near or in their cars. Photos of a potential suspect and vehicle were posted to social media by the South San Francisco Police Department.
Incidents of suspects snatching purses from women were reported near South San Francisco, Sunnyvale, Milpitas and Santa Clara. A black Infinity vehicle was spotted at most of the reported incidents and it appeared that its license plate had been switched multiple times, police said.
"Please be aware of your surroundings and contact your local police department if the attached suspect and vehicle is seen engaging similar suspicious behavior," police wrote in a Thursday statement.
