Free webinar Explores Advantages to Earning California Teacher Certification in Personalized Learning Model School

Interested in a teaching career? Are you retired and looking for your second act career? Maybe you’ve always pondered a creative career helping youth?

Now’s a great time to explore a career as a teacher in a personalized learning environment through the Summit Learning Teacher Residency . Graduates of the one-year program earn both a master’s degree and California Teaching Certification, qualifying them to teach at any public school in California. Those interested in learning more can do so by registering for a no-obligation, free webinar about the program. Advance registration is required.

Once accepted to the Residency program, aspiring teachers are matched to a Bay Area Summit Public School and mentor. Summit Public Schools has one school in the Pacifica/Daly City/South San Francisco area, Summit Shasta. Gradually residents take control of their own classroom, while working alongside an experienced teacher. Focused on preparing teachers for success in a personalized learning environment.

Residents spend four days each week working alongside a mentor teacher, experiencing exactly what a teacher goes through daily but with personalized coaching and support.

“The program is a huge opportunity for me to follow a path toward my professional goals, and learn essential teaching skills through a personalized learning model and with a great cooperating teacher. I believe that this program is providing me with knowledge and experience that will guide me as a future educator,” said April Carrera-McGuire, a current resident.
