Caltrain Offering Free New Year's Rides To South San Francisco
Peninsula residents can ring in the New Year safely by hopping on a free Caltrain ride anytime after 8 p.m. on New Year's Eve Tuesday.

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA — New Year's revelers, rejoice: Caltrain will offer extra rides and free service to and from dozens of stations up and down the Peninsula starting 8 p.m. Tuesday, New Year's Eve, and lasting until 2 a.m.
The trains will help serve people attending New Year's Eve fireworks in San Francisco, which are set to begin at 11:59 p.m. over the waterfront.
Caltrain also added two additional bullet trains depart from San Francisco after the fireworks, making all local stops to San Jose. The last train will leave San Francisco at 2 a.m.

Caltrain hopes the added service will "encourage New Year’s revelers to enjoy their night safely and responsibly," the agency said in a release.
The full New Year's Eve schedule can be viewed on Caltrain's website. Trains will follow a Sunday schedule on Wednesday, New Year's day.
