Early Spring Storm Expected to Rain on Afternoon Bay Area Commute
The evening commute will see ponds on roadways & gusty winds through Monday night, with showers continuing through Tuesday, the NWS says.
BAY AREA, CA -- An early spring rainstorm is expected to a messy Monday evening commute, but no major impacts are expected for Bay Area waterways, according to the National Weather Service.
The storm front is moving through the North Bay and is expected to stay north of the Golden Gate Bridge through noon Monday, at which point the storm will begin to move through the immediate Bay Area, meteorologist Ryan Walbrun said.
The evening commute will see water pond on roadways and gusty winds through Monday night, with showers continuing through the day on Tuesday. Winds will gust 20-30 mph in the immediate Bay Area from Monday to Wednesday.

As much as 1-2 inches may fall in the coastal North Bay, 0.5-1 inch could fall in the North Bay valleys/Santa Cruz mountains and 0.2-0.4 inches is expected in the immediate Bay Area.
Thunderstorms are possible on Wednesday, meteorologists said.
