SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — San Mateo County health officials on Thursday urged all area residents older than 6 months to get the flu shot. The advisory was issued as those sick with seasonal influenza are flooding local ERs.
"San Mateo County Health System officials are urging everyone six months and older to get a flu vaccine," an alert from the county stated. "Local emergency rooms are reporting increased flu activity."
Officials said that even though we're already a few months into this flu season, it's not too late to get vaccinated.
