Luxury Rental Community Breaks Ground In South San Francisco
"'Cadence' will be an important first step to revitalizing downtown South San Francisco," the developer says.

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Crews broke ground on Thursday of a new "luxury apartment community" slated for completion in the fall of 2018. "Cadence" is located near downtown South San Francisco and will be comprised of 260 apartments across five stories, project developers say.
Representatives from the San Mateo-based real estate developer, Sares Regis Group of Northern California (SRGNC), along with several South San Francisco city officials were in attendance at the groundbreaking, including Mayor Pradeep Gupta. The mayor gave a speech before accepting a ceremonial shovel from SRGNC to symbolize the beginning of a new stage of development for the city.

"Housing is one of our top priorities in South San Francisco, and this is a key project that begins to meet our housing needs," says City Manager Mike Futrell. "Cadence’s close location to both Caltrain and Grand Avenue will help support a vibrant, successful downtown."

SRGNC says the completed project will include a rooftop lounge, fitness center, club rooms, and landscaped courtyards. It's located on two acres near the future site of a new Caltrain station in the area.
"The project also includes a $5.7M contribution from SRGNC that will go towards improvements to community parks, pedestrian connections, water lines, storm drains, and public art," the developer said in a press release. "Streetscape improvements on Miller and Cyprus Avenues and Airport Boulevard will include enhanced sidewalks, furniture, street trees, lighting, and bicycle improvements."
