SRT officers surrounded the residence and trained negotiators used a loudspeaker to contact all inside the home after being unable to reach them by phone, police said.

SRT Officers vacated the home and conducted a safety sweep before turning the location over to Colma detectives authorized to search the residence, police said.

One suspect was arrested according to police.

“BPD considers it standard procedure to have SRT serve this high-risk warrant to keep the officers involved, subjects and the public safe,” police said in a statement.

“The safety and security of the residents of Berkeley are always our priority. In this operation we were able to safely assist Colma PD, using trained police personnel from the Special Response Team.”
