SamTrans To Discuss Fare Changes At South San Francisco Meeting

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA — SamTrans will hold a series of public meetings to discuss potential changes to its fare system, including one in South San Francisco.

A number of proposals that aim to save riders' money will be proposed, including the reducing the cost of a standard day pass. Some of the proposals aim to modernize the system, including one that proposes replacing metal tokens with paper ones. Several proposals having to do with raising funds will be discussed, including the addition of a new fare type for express service.

Wednesday's meeting was scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at SamTrans offices at 1250 San Carlos Ave. in San Carlos. There are also meetings at 9:30 a.m. on June 4 at 33 Arroyo Drive in South San Francisco, 5 p.m. on June 5 at 535 Kelly Ave. in Half Moon Bay and virtual town hall on June 18 at 11 a.m.
