South San Francisco Residents 'Go EV' At The Library

Electric vehicles are zipping everywhere but are YOU ready to make the change? Thanks to the Karl Knapp Go EV program from Acterra, more than 60 patrons of South San Francisco Public Library learned everything they need to know to "go EV". Volunteers drove (quietly) into the library lot, parked their electric vehicles, popped their hoods, and answered all sorts of questions on what life is like owning an electric vehicle. The fleet of electric vehicles included a Nissan Leaf, a Chevy Bolt, a Kia Sol EV, and two different Tesla models.

After the car show, a presentation by Acterra taught people about the rebates available for purchasing or leasing an EV, the benefits of going EV, battery ranges and charging basics, leasing versus buying and what changes are coming for new EV makes and models. “It helped me to see the complete picture and will help me to decide to buy sooner," reported one participant. Another said, the event "helped me to address insecurities about going EV.”
