SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Though Friday was predicted to be "unseasonably cool" with scattered showers, Peninsula residents and visitors can expect a warming trend to kick in this holiday weekend, forecasters said. High pressure is expected to build in the region, leading to warmer temperatures on Sunday through Tuesday especially.

A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 58. Southwest wind 8 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Friday Night
A 20 percent chance of showers before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 51. West wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Partly sunny, with a high near 58. Breezy, with a west northwest wind 16 to 24 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph.
