String Of Peninsula Garage Burglaries Probed

Suspects used remote garage door openers stolen from cars according to police.

DALY CITY, CA — A Peninsula man was arrested Tuesday and an additional suspect is sought in connection with a string of garage burglaries Daly City police said.

Portable garage door openers were taken from two of three vehicles that were burglarized overnight Friday and Saturday in the 100 block of Alexander Avenue.

An opener was used to enter a home and steal multiple belongings early Saturday morning while the residents were sleeping.

The suspect in that theft returned later Saturday in a car driven by an accomplice and stole a bicycle from another home on Alexander Avenue.

The suspect driving the car was identified as 29-year-old Oscar Soriano of Daly City.

Police are still trying to identify the other suspect and are circulating images from surveillance systems. He is described as a man in his 20s to 30s of unknown race, wearing a black jacket, white sweater, gray pants, and black shoes.

Police said the case is being referred to the District Attorney for prosecution.
