Weekend Caltrain Service To Be Limited Starting In October

Caltrain electrification work has prompted the suspension of weekend Caltrain service to San Francisco's 22nd Street and Fourth and King streets stations starting in early October.

Caltrain officials said tunnel construction will prompt the suspension of service from Oct. 6 to late Spring 2019. During that time, except for one weekend in January, trains will make their last stop at Bayshore station.

Free service on San Mateo County Transit District buses will take passengers from Bayshore station to the 22nd Street and Fourth and King streets stations.

Buses are accessible to people with disabilities, but will have limited onboard space for luggage and bicycles, according to Caltrain officials.

Regular service will be restored for the weekend of Jan. 5 and 6 to accommodate people traveling to events related to the 2019 College Football National Championship game at Levi's Stadium Jan. 7.

Each week, construction will be completed before the Monday morning rush hour.More details about the closures can be found at caltrain.com/sfweekendclosure.
