Barry Johnson Weighs in on Mural Decisions in City Hall

What do you think about the decision that the city is mulling over to allow new murals to go up throughout the city after a decade-long moratorium.

Studio City has had its own longtime battle with non-permitted murals around the area, see:

Locally, Barry Johnson of the Studio City Residents Association, has been opposed to too many murals in the neighborhoods, and was quoted recently in the Los Angeles Times about the story.

Johnson said neighborhoods need a clear way to "opt out" of the mural system if they want.

"Granted, there are neighborhoods where there are several murals," he said. "But there are neighborhoods like mine that have virtually none at all."
