Book Drive For Children To Be Held This Weekend
Unused books for kids from preschool - 12th grade will be used to build three lending libraries in the community.
STUDIO CITY, CA — Prospective congresswoman Aarika Rhodes will host a book drive this Saturday to help launch three lending libraries in the community. Rhodes, who hopes to represent Studio City, Sherman Oaks and the rest of California's 30th District in 2022, hopes to bring in over 100 books to encourage children to read early and gain knowledge.
The book drive will start at 10 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Burbank Boulevard and N Balboa Boulevard. Unused books for kids from preschool - 12th grade are requested.
"One of my goals when elected into Congress is to create a community of readers through our lending library program," Rhodes said. "It is vital we encourage and inspire young people to read and by having lending libraries."
