Brush Fire Scorches 2 Acres Off Mulholland Drive
Firefighters worked to quickly halt the spread of a brush Fire Wednesday afternoon near Beverly Crest.
LOS ANGELES, CA — Los Angeles firefighters battled a brush fire in West Los Angeles Wednesday afternoon. The brush fire blackened about two acres between Mulholland and Coldwater Canyon drives in the Beverly Crest area Wednesday.
Dozens of firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze before it threatened any structures.
The non-injury fire started about 1:35 p.m. amid light winds in the area, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

More than six dozen firefighters battled the blaze from the top and bottom, using Mulholland and Coldwater Canyon drives, and extinguished the flames in just under an hour, Stewart said. Crews were expected to remain on scene for about an hour to ensure no hot spots reignite, she said.
There was no word on what sparked the blaze.

It was the second wildfire to hit the area Wednesday. Westside residents to billowing smoke as flames licked the Sepulveda Pass. About 50 acres burned in the burn scar area of the 2017 Skirball Fire.
