Brush Fire Scorches A Quarter Acre Near Laurel Canyon
A firefighting helicopter was called in to help douse the fire before it could threaten nearby homes Tuesday.
STUDIO CITY, CA — A quarter-acre of brush burned Tuesday evening in a Studio City residential area, but firefighters were able to stop the blaze from spreading to nearby homes.
The Los Angeles Fire Department got the call to respond jus before 6 p.m. in the 3500 block of Woodhill Canyon Place, near Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Wilacre Park, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
An LAFD helicopter was called to extinguish the fire at about 7 p.m., and firefighters cut a line in the brush to separate the unburned area from the burned area, which had some smoldering material, Prange said.
