City Planning department records show that a permit is being sought to demolish a building along Ventura Boulevard and build a banquet hall and community center.
The building would be at 11150 Ventura Blvd. across from the intersection of Arch Drive and near where the legendary Vince's Gym once stood, adjacent to the mulch-lined area created by Studio City Beautification nicknamed The Oasis.
A 671-square-foot dwelling would be demolished and a new 5,500 square-foot building would be built which is described as a "banquet hall and community center."
The permit is being requested by Sarkis "Sam" Gezalyan. The application was filed June 3. The proposal went to the Studio City Neighborhood Council Land Use committee as a discussion for a new restaurant. The proposal will go to the City Planning Department for approval.
