STUDIO CITY, CA — Acclaimed actor Eddie Murphy will be honored with the Distinguished Artisan Award from the Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylist Guild. Murphy, who has starred in box office hits such as Coming to America, Beverly Hills Cop and The Nutty Professor, was selected for the award in honor of the "prolific spectrum of his versatile four-decade acting career on screen and television."

Murphy will receive the award during the eighth annual MUAHS Awards, which will be held on April 3. The award will be presented by Arsenio Hall, who co-starred with Murphy in Coming to America.

“From The Nutty Professor to Prince Akeem, Eddie Murphy is a legendary actor whose myriad of characters live in our hearts forever," said guild president Julie Socash. "He has expertly created memorable personalities in numerous award winning films, often portraying multiple characters in the same film. This award recognizes all the hours that he has spent in the make-up chair collaborating with our talented and innovative make-up artists and hair stylists, and we celebrate these great relationships and Eddie’s enormous talents,” said Socash.
