Free, Discounted Rides Offered On Election Day

Need a lift to the polls? These services will be offering free or discounted rides.

LOS ANGELES, CA -- Need a lift to the polls this Election Day? Different services in Los Angeles County will be offering voters free or discounted rides to cast their votes.

Lime, the eco-friendly ride company, will give all riders in the U.S. will receive two free rides on Election Day to help overcome the transportation barrier that prevents many Americans from getting to and from the polls, the company said.

Interested voters just need to use the promo code LIME2VOTE18 to get access to any of Lime's bikes, e-bikes, and e-scooters for a free ride to and from their polling location, up to 30-minutes.

Lyft, the ride-sharing company, will also offer voters 50 percent off rides to polling places this Tuesday. In some underserved communities, voters can get free rides. Get your promo code here.

Finally, the city of Los Angeles will offer free rides all day on all Metro buses, trains and DASH and Commuter Express buses.
