Grocery Workers Preparing For a Strike Sunday Night

The union says a strike could come as early as Sunday night.

Grocery workers at the three supermarket chains, Ralphs, Vons and Albertsons are set to strike as early as Sunday night, Ralphs markets are preparing to shut down in the event of a strike, according to a spokeswoman.

 On Thursday night, unions issued a 72-hour strike notice, giving them the ability to walk out from hundreds of stores In Los Angeles, Orange and other Southern California Counties.

The 52,000 grocery workers have been working without a contract for the past 6 months, while negotiators for the United Food and Commercial Workers Union and the markets attempted to reach an agreement.
