LAPD: $50,000 Reward For Info On Fatal Hit-And-Run

An 85-year-old woman was fatally struck by a car Sunday while walking in a crosswalk on Lankershim Boulevard.

STUDIO CITY, CA — An 85-year-old woman was killed in a fatal hit-and-run accident on Sunday, with LAPD still searching for a suspect. The hit-and-run occurred around 5:40 p.m. near Lankershim Boulevard and Moorpark Street.

LAPD said the woman was walking in a crosswalk on Lankershim Boulevard, when a car driving east on Moorpark Street turned right and hit her. The driver fled the scene rather than stopping to check on the victim.

LAFD paramedics arrived and took the victim to a local hospital, where she died. Her name was not yet released until relatives could be notified.

The car is described as a newer black sedan. Details on the suspect weren't immediately available.

A reward of up to $50,000 is available to anyone who provides information leaving to an arrest and conviction. Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Freeman or Officer Hansen at 818-644-8255 or 818-644-8000.
