Loud Pops Prompt Panic At Burbank Town Center
False rumors of a mall shooter triggered a scare among shoppers at the Burbank Town Center Monday.

BURBANK, CA — Some loud noises, possibly balloons popping, caused a momentary panic Monday evening at a mall in Burbank.
The situation unfolded about 7:30 p.m. at the Burbank Town Center at 201 E. Magnolia Blvd., according to Burbank police.
There were no evacuations, but some in the mall panicked when they heard the sounds or were erroneously informed that there had been a shooting, a police watch commander said.
