Mixed Ruling In Danny Masterson, Church of Scientology Lawsuit
Plaintiffs claimed they were stalked and harassed after filing sexual assault allegations against the actor.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A judge Tuesday asked plaintiffs to amend their lawsuit against the Church of Scientology and Danny Masterson, after the group said they were harassed for filing sexual assault allegations against the actor.
Plaintiffs Chrissie Carnell Bixler, Bobette Riales and two Jane Does, claimed strangers stalked their house, stole their credit cards and hacked their email accounts. They also claimed they were followed by other cars and that one of them was forced off the road while driving.
All four women were ex-girlfriends of Masterson.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Steven Kleifield said there weren't enough facts to back physical and constructive evasion of privacy claims, but that details supported their allegations of stalking and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
The women were given 20 days to file an amended complaint.

Judge Kleifield made the same rulings in the church's motion to dismiss Riales' claims, the only plaintiff not a former member of the church. "Riales alleges no events that occurred in California," church attorneys stated in their court papers. "Riales lives and works in the state of Indiana."
The judge did grant Masterson's motion to dismiss the plaintiffs' motions for attorneys' fees, triple and punitive damages. He did not rule on Masterson's attorney's request mandating the two Jane Does to use their legal names in future court papers.
Bixler said Masterson repeatedly abused between 1997-2002 in a sworn declaration. She also said she reported the assaults to the church.
One Jane Doe claimed she was assaulted by Masterson in 2002-2003, but that the church ordered her to take an "ethics program" after she reported his abuse. Another Jane Doe claims that after reporting Masterson's sexual abuse against her in 2003-2004, several Scientologists began to "disconnect from [her] on social media."
Masterson will reappear in court on October 19 in a separate case involving three counts of felony rape at his Hollywood Hills home. The former That '70s Show actor could spend up to 45 years in prison if convicted in that case.
