Rainy Weekend In Studio City, Snow Expected In Mountains
Forecasters said thunderstorms may be possible on Saturday due to the unsettled nature of the storm.
STUDIO CITY, CA — Less than a week after blistering winds knocked over trees and forced a vaccination site to temporarily close, Los Angeles is expected to get its first rainstorm of 2021 this weekend. Studio City has a 50% chance of rain showers Friday night, with showers likely to continue on Saturday and again on Sunday night.
National Weather Service forecasters said an upper-level low-pressure system will make its way into the Southland Friday, giving the region "very cool and unsettled weather" through the weekend.
"At this time, (forecasters) do not anticipate this system to have a lot of moisture to work with," the NWS said. "So, rainfall totals will not be too impressive, with most areas receiving under one-quarter inch of rainfall, with local amounts up to around one-half inch across the San Gabriel Mountains."
