Ralph Strangis Temporary Takes Over for Ailing L.A. Kings Announcer, Bob Miller
Strangis will call Kings games through Feb. 28, and the team indicated it would provide an update on Miller toward the end of the month.
LOS ANGELES, CA -- With veteran Los Angeles Kings announcer Bob Miller still recovering from a mild stroke, Ralph Strangis will call the next seven Kings games on Fox Sports West alongside Jim Fox, the team announced Monday.
"Bob's health remains our utmost priority and this was a joint decision," according to the team. "We share our fans' sentiments and wish Bob a safe and speedy recovery. The Kings and our entire broadcasting crew are appreciative of Ralph and his efforts here."
Strangis will call Kings games from Thursday through Feb. 28, and the team indicated it would provide an update on Miller toward the end of the month.

The 78-year-old Miller has been the voice of the Kings since 1973, and is a member of the Southern California Broadcasters Hall of Fame. A press box at Staples Center is named after Miller.
Miller suffered a mild stroke Jan. 28 and was treated at USC Keck Hospital. He is recovering at home and "remains in great spirits," according to the team.
