Rams Trade for No. 1 Draft Pick

The Los Angeles Rams traded a slew of draft picks for the chance to go first in this year's draft.

LOS ANGELES, CA The Los Angeles Rams traded for the number 1 draft pick in a blockbuster deal aimed at acquiring a franchise quarterback.

The Rams traded with the Tennessee Titans for the No. 1 pick giving up their No. 15 pick, two second round picks, a third round pick and a first and third round pick in next year’s draft.

The move puts the team first in line to scoop up North Dakota State’s Carson Wentz. The Rams will also receive a fourth-round pick (113) and sixth-round pick (177) in 2016. The NFL draft is April 28-30 in Chicago.

"Our philosophy always has been to build through the draft," Rams General Manager Les Snead said. "This trade is a reflection of that goal."

"In order to make a move of this magnitude you have to have a good trade partner," said Rams coach Jeff Fisher, a former standout defensive back for the USC Trojans, and former head coach of the Titans. "We appreciate working with the Titans on an opportunity that can benefit both organizations."
