LOS ANGELES, CA — Rapper Mac Miller was found dead of an apparent overdose in his San Fernando Valley home, according to media reports. He was 26-years-old.

TMZ, which first broke the news about Miller's death, reports that Miller has been recently struggling with substance abuse following his breakup with Ariana Grande. He was facing possible DUI and hit and run charges after crashing his car in the Hollywood Hills this summer.

TMZ cited law enforcement sources saying the rapper was found Friday at around noon at his San Fernando Valley home and was pronounced dead at the scene. i

The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner confirmed the late-morning death of the rapper, whose real name is Malcom McCormick, who was found unresponsive in his home in the 11600 block of Valleycrest Drive in Studio City and pronounced dead at the scene at 11:51 a.m.

"At this time, an autopsy is pending and a cause of death has not been determined," according to a coroner's office statement.

The Los Angeles Fire Department reported that it responded at 11:42 a.m. to "an unspecified medical complaint" at the location, a spokeswoman said.

Miller's death was first reported by TMZ, which cited law enforcement sources and called it an apparent drug overdose.

In the hours before he died, he posted a video of a record player playing one of his songs.

Miller's personal problems have made headlines recently. In May, he was arrested on suspicion of DUI hit and run after his crashed car was found abandoned in the Hollywood Hills. Police said McCormick drove his 2016 G-Wagon over a curb, knocked down a power pole, and ditched his car to flee on foot with his two passengers in tow. A witness called police, who showed up at the rapper's home. At the time, police told reporters he was a notably polite and cooperative suspect.

That is when Grande made a public plea, asking Miller to take care of himself. She made it clear she was worried about drug use.

“I am not a babysitter or a mother and no woman should feel that they need to be,” she tweeted. “I have cared for him and tried to support his sobriety and prayed for his balance for years..."

Arraignment was scheduled this month for the musician, whose real name is Malcolm McCormick. He was charged with one count each of driving under the influence and driving with a blood- alcohol content of 0.08 or above, according to the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office.

But the rapper appeared to be optimistic about his future recently. He was getting ready to tour for his new album “Swimming.”

“I just wanna go on tour,” he tweeted in the hours before his death. “The show is going to be special every night. I wish it started tomorrow.”

Fans and other artists paid tribute to Miller as news of the tragedy spread Friday.

Chance the Rapper shared his grief and his gratitude for Miller.

"But beyond helping me launch my career he was one of the sweetest guys I ever knew," he wrote. "Great man. I loved him for real. Im completely broken. God bless him."
