Red Flag Warning In Studio City Until 10 p.m. Tuesday

STUDIO CITY, CA — As gusty winds continue to buffet Los Angeles County in the presence of low humidity, the National Weather Service has again issued a Red Flag Warning for much of the region. In Studio City, the warning will be in place through 10 p.m. Tuesday night.

Red Flag Warnings indicate an elevated fire risk, which officials sorely hope to avoid after one of the most brutal fire seasons in the history of California. In the San Fernando Valley, NWS said winds could gust up to 50 mph, with isolated gusts in the foothills possibly reaching 60 mph.

"If fire ignition occurs, conditions will be favorable for rapid fire spread, long range spotting, and extreme fire behavior which would threaten life and property," NWS said.

"Use extreme caution with potential fire ignition sources. This is the time to get set with assembling your emergency supply kit and knowing your evacuation route," the department continued.

Temperatures are expected to reach 76 degrees with mostly cloudy skies on Monday in Studio City, before dropping to 51 degrees overnight. Tuesday will see sunnier skies, with a high of 84 degrees and an overnight low of 50 degrees.
