Smoke Advisory For Studio City Due To Bobcat, El Dorado Fires
The advisory will be in place until Thursday afternoon unless extended.
STUDIO CITY, CA — A smoke advisory has been issued for Studio City as the Bobcat and El Dorado fires continue to burn in Southern California. The Air Quality Management District sent out a new warning on Wednesday afternoon, which will last until Thursday unless extended.
"The Bobcat Fire is producing substantial amounts of smoke while the El Dorado Fire is producing light smoke on Wednesday morning based on satellite and webcam imagery," AQMD said Wednesday afternoon in a statement. "Smoke from the Bobcat Fire and the El Dorado Fire is being transported towards the northwest. Smoke from the southern extents of the Bobcat Fire was visible in the San Gabriel River valley this morning and was being transported southeast."
Smoke advisories have been in place for the past several weeks as the fires continue to rage. As of Wednesday afternoon, the Bobcat fire had burned over 100,000 acres and was at 38% containment. The El Dorado fire was at 68% containment and had burned about 22,000 acres.

The AQMD advised Studio City residents to remain indoors with the windows closed as often as possible to limit exposure to smoke. The agency also warned against vigorous physical activity, and said homeowners should use portable air cleaners whenever possible.
