Strong Winds To Return To Studio City Wednesday

Forecasters say wind gusts of up to 50 mph will buffet the San Fernando Valley beginning Tuesday night.

STUDIO CITY, CA — Windy weather will be returning to Studio City
Tuesday night, with forecasters expecting it to last until midday Wednesday. The National Weather Service expects wind speeds around 20-35 mph, with occasional gusts of up to 50 mph.

NWS said the strongest winds will blow in the northwestern portion of the San Fernando Valley, along with the eastern Ventura County Valleys. The agency cautioned the winds could make for dangerous driving conditions on freeways in the area, including the 101 and 5 freeways.

"Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects and make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles," NWS said. "This includes the 23, 101, and 118 freeways, as well as Interstate 5. 101, 210, and 405 freeways."

The wind advisory will go into effect at 8 p.m. and will last until noon Wednesday, unless extended. NWS advised residents to take extra care behind the wheel, and secure outdoor objects to prevent them from blowing over.

Wednesday calls for sunny skies with a high of 77 degrees, before dropping to 48 degrees overnight. Thursday will bring cooler weather in the mid 60s, with mostly cloudy skies lasting until the night.

Rounding out the week, Friday will bring a return to sunny skies with a high in the upper 60s, while the overnight low should be around 46 degrees.
