Studio City Farmers Market's Ex-Manager Heads to Encino

While Gallegos was manager, Los Angeles Magazine named the Studio City Farmers Market the “Most Kid-Friendly Market” in Los Angeles in 2008, and Nickelodeon’s Parents Connect website named it the “Parents Pick” winner in 2009 for favorite Los Angeles farmers market. In February, the Los Angeles Times called it “one of the two or three best farmers markets in the San Fernando Valley.”

The Encino market is sponsored by , a nonprofit organization that serves . The market operates every Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 17400 Victory Blvd.

“We’re very pleased to have Carole coming aboard,” said One Generation Facility Director Brian Arthur. “We will be looking at possibly making some changes to better the experience for the patrons and improve things for the market all the way around.”

Gallegos will be replacing former Encino market manager Stan Lubitsch.

“He was a very, very dedicated employee of OneGeneration and the Encino Farmers Market,” Arthur said. “We’re moving forward and excited to have Carole, and wish Stan well.”

The Encino farmers market has been operating for 16 years, and is one of the largest in the San Fernando Valley with about 35 produce vendors and about 35 prepared foods and nonagricultural stands, said Arthur.

Gallegos is also the market manager of the newly opened Sherman Oaks Farmers Market. She will be at the Encino market this Sunday.
