A Casa Vega & Fall Out Boy Mix: 'Sugar, We’re Goin’ To Get Tacos'
What you get when a legendary, SF Valley restaurant collaborates with a top band's bassist: a tasty taco that benefits charity.

SHERMAN OAKS, CA — A kitchen collab between the Casa Vega restaurant and Fall Out Boy's bass player, has resulted in an indulgent, over-the-top taco — dubbed “Sugar, We’re Goin’ to Get Tacos” — available during October at the landmark Mexican eatery in Sherman Oaks, with a portion of profits going to charity.
Casa Vega owner Christy Vega and her longtime friend and bassist Pete Wentz dreamed up the dish, which melds a crispy, corn shell filled with ground beef or shredded chicken, homemade queso sauce, Cool Ranch Doritos and pico de gallo, all topped with a cilantro ranch crema drizzle.
A portion of proceeds, $3.50 per each $7 taco sold, will go to No Us Without You, a charity that supports and provides food security for undocumented, "back of house" staff and their families. The Los Angeles organization was launched by Va’La Hospitality in mid-March, at the onset of the pandemic, to aid the restaurant industry's "heart and soul" workers.
