World Series: Record Heat And Record Ticket Prices For Game 1
The temperature of the first Dodgers-Astros meeting was a record 103 degrees as fans shelled out as much as $13K for tickets: BREAKING.

LOS ANGELES, CA — As a record-setting heat wave boils Los Angeles, Dodgers fans are shelling out an average of $3,332 for World Series tickets for a chance to see their team’s first World Series game since 1988, according to data.
While Dodgers and Astros’ sluggers brace themselves against the infamous Santa Ana winds and potential triple-digit temperatures, fans can still find tickets in the cheap seats for $900 as of today, but the premium home-plate tickets are going for nearly $13,000, according to data by TicketIQ and StubHub.
The ticket prices put this World Series in the ballpark of the Chicago Cubs World Series last year when fans spent an average of $3,480 for a seat at Wrigley Field for all their games and a whopping $6,548 for game 5, according to CNN.

As of Monday, there were still thousands of tickets for sale even as demand for good tickets surged on secondary markets.
Fans who bleed blue will have to sweat it out for a chance to see the Dodgers’ first World Series in nearly three decades. The temperature for the opening pitch was 103 degrees. The unseasonably high temperature will be caused by a combination of Santa Ana winds and a strong upper-high pressure system, said Andrew Rorke, a weather service meteorologist.

The hottest World Series game on record to date was Game 1 of the 2001 matchup between the Arizona Diamondbacks and New York Yankees in Phoenix on Oct. 27, with a first-pitch temperature of 94 degrees, prompting Major League Baseball brass to open the roof at the then-Bank One Ballpark, according to The Weather Channel, citing information from a blog by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration meteorologist Alex Lamers.
The Los Angeles Fire Department will assign additional personnel throughout the Dodger Stadium property because of both the heat and the potential for excessive celebration, the department's Amy Bastman said.
"We are prepared for any additional need for emergency medical services," she said, adding that the department will be poised to deploy additional personnel if needed.
