Big G Ranch Hits Market Near Temecula, Murrieta
Situated on 5 acres just west of Temecula in Rancho De Luz, the property is a one-of-a-kind throwback to the 1800s and its famous resident.
TEMECULA, CA — Known as the former home of Temecula artist Robert Morris, or more recently Big G Ranch, this unique De Luz property has served as a private retreat, B&B, wedding venue, and has been marketed as a film location. There is really nothing like it in Southern California.
Morris, who passed away in 2018 at the age of 85, is known for his many touches around Old Town Temecula — the arches at both ends of Old Town Front Street, several old-timey signs that adorn the shops, the entire Western feel — were his creations, according to an obituary published in The Press-Enterprise.
Legend has it Morris rode into town on horseback in the 1960s and never left the area.

He was among several community leaders who decided in the 1980s to recreate the historic Old Town district according to an 1890s theme, the obituary reads.
“His imagination was heralded all over the place. He wanted to maintain the culture of the area. He had a very old Western feel about him that he portrayed in his buildings, his art and everything else," a longtime resident told the paper.
