166 Tickets Written In 3 Hours In Union City
Traffic cops from 4 cities cracked down on distracted drivers.

UNION CITY, CA — Did you get a ticket last Wednesday? If so, you're in good company.
On April 11, the Union City Police Department hosted a High Intensity Traffic Team detail. Traffic units from Hayward, Newark, Fremont, and Union City converged on the city for three hours, focusing on distracted driving.
During that time, 14 officers issued 166 tickets including 76 for distracted driving.

According to UCPD, a traffic collision involving a driver using their cellphone happens every 30 seconds, on average, in California.
Next month, the High Intensity Traffic Team will move to either Hayward, Newark or Fremont. Drive safely!
