Alameda County Reads 2021

Library Program Celebrates Reading and Community Discussion at Alameda County Libraries Free copy of the book while supplies last!

Alameda County Reads is the Alameda County Library's first county-wide reading program. Together, we will celebrate reading a great book while building community through a thoughtful exchange of ideas. Our book selection is Eat Joy: Stories & Comfort Food from 31 Celebrated Writers, edited by Natalie Eve Garrett. A video of County Librarian Cindy Chadwick interviewing Natalie Eve Garrett is posted on the Alameda County Reads webpage, along with information on library programs developed around the book.

Sign up online for a discussion and arrange to pick up the book at your local AC Library. Free copies of Eat Joy are available while supplies last. The celebration continues from February through April with many book discussion sessions and other special Alameda County Reads programs.

“The vision of AC Library is Kind, Connected Humans,” said Deputy County Librarian Deb Sica. “In our rapidly changing world, we know that it is more important than ever to build both human and humane connections with one another. AC Reads is our first One County, One Book Celebration! Bon livre, bon appétit!”
