Crash on Dumbarton Bridge Fouls Traffic, Bay

SOUTH BAY AREA, CA — Fuel apparently spilled into the Bay after a crash between a dump truck and a car on the Dumbarton Bridge this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported at 6:26 a.m. on the eastbound side of the bridge that connects Menlo Park and Fremont.

An estimated 5 gallons of fuel spilled into the Bay as a result of the crash, CHP Officer James Evans said. State wildlife officials have been asked to respond to the scene.

No one was injured in the crash, which is still blocking eastbound traffic as of 7:45 a.m., Evans said.
