Deadly Freeway Crash In Union City
The crash was reported shortly after midnight Friday.
UNION CITY, CA — A young man who died in a solo-vehicle crash early Friday in Union City was identified as Marco Antonio Gonzalez Peregrina, 22, of Hayward, according to the Alameda County coroner.
CHP officers got a call at 12:31 a.m. about a car blocking the far left lane on southbound Interstate Highway 880 south of Alvarado-Niles Road, CHP Officer Dustin Kennerley said. When officers arrived, they found a vehicle that had crashed into the center divider.
Peregrina was pronounced dead there, Kennerley said.

He said CHP officers don't know what caused the crash. Anyone who witnessed it is asked to call the CHP's Hayward office at (510) 489-1500.
