East Bay, Kansas City Congressmembers Make Super Bowl Bet

"Have you guys ever been to the Super Bowl?" Bay Area Rep. Eric Swalwell asked Kansas City Rep. Sharice Davids. "Do you need directions?"

EAST BAY, CA — Bay Area Congressman Eric Swalwell and Kansas City Congresswoman Sharice Davids are waging a Super Bowl bet, and regional delicacies are on the line.

In a video posted to Davids' Twitter account, the two representatives — donning jerseys — confront each other.

"You're wearing the wrong jersey," Davids said.

"No, I'm wearing the to-be Super Bowl champions' jersey," Swalwell said. "Have you guys ever been to the Super Bowl? Do you need directions?"

If the San Francisco 49ers claim the Super Bowl LIV title, Davids owes Swalwell some Kansas City barbecue. But if the Kansas City Chiefs prevail, Swalwell owes Davids Blommer Chocolates.

"I will send you as much chocolate as you guys want," Swalwell said. "Actually I'll send you the whole factory, because it's not even going to happen, not even close."

Davids is not so sure.

"As a candy lover myself, I'm excited to taste some of California’s finest chocolates, but nothing will be as sweet as when Kansas City beats the 49ers," she said on Twitter.

Swalwell retorted: "Looking forward to our KC BBQ delivery this Monday!"

The loser will also have to sport the winning team's jersey for a day.

Swalwell is pretty confident that he won't be wearing KC Chiefs red.

"Go Niners," he said, shaking Davids's hand. "See you on the field."
