Friends Compiling Memory Book for Teacher Who Died of Aneurysm
Friends and former students are encouraged to contribute to the book, tentatively titled "Your Mom Was Amazing." A zumba fundraiser will also be held next month.
Community members are coming together to memorialize Sara Husokowski Anderson, a Union City teacher who passed away from a sudden brain aneurysm on Oct. 3.
Friends are currently compiling a memory book for Husokowski’s 10-week-old son.
Husokowski, who was known by her students as “Ms. H,” taught in the New Haven Unified School District for more than nine years. She taught at Searles Elementary School, Hillview Crest Elementary School and Cesar Chavez Middle School. She was on maternity leave for the fall but planned to return to work at Alvarado Elementary School, according to the district.

“My heart aches thinking of Sara's little William not knowing his mommy,” Greaney said in a statement. “I want there to be a way for him to get a small inkling of how dearly she was loved by everyone who knew her. I think that the act of creating pages for a book that might help with some healing for us, offer us something we can actually do, and a way for William to connect with his mom as he grows.”
Colleagues, friends former students and their families are encouraged to contribute to the book. Stories, photographs and artwork can be submitted on an 8-and-a-half inch by 11-inch page by email to JGreaney@nhusd.k12.ca.us or snail mail at 35045 Lilac Loop, Union City, 94587.
