Hayward Man Killed In San Benito County Crash

Two people were killed in the three vehicle crash when one ran a stop sign.

HAYWARD, CA — A 65-year-old man from Hayward was one of two people killed in a three-vehicle collision in San Benito County on Saturday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials said the man was a passenger in a 2014 Kia Forte with a 56-year-old woman from Los Banos behind the wheel on Frazier Lake Road shortly before 7:40 a.m. Saturday. The Kia didn't stop at a stop sign at the intersection with Shore Road and was struck by a 2017 GMC Yukon followed by a 2013 Kenworth vehicle.

The Los Banos woman also died of her injuries, according to the CHP. Neither of the names of the victims who died have been released.

Nobody else in any of the other vehicles involved in the collision was injured, including a 1-year-old child in the Yukon.
