Internationally recognized, Bay Area Speech and Debate Academy is inviting your 4th -5th grade students for weekly, Monday - Friday, 9 am to 12 pm (PDT) Congressional Debate Camp(s) Online

August 3 - 7, 2020 9:00am - 12:00pm (PDT)
Speech and Debate exposes students to important and exciting ideas and will help enhance their critical thinking, self-confidence, and knowledge about the world. The goal of our camps and classes is to instruct your child in the study of argumentation and presentation, which will help them excel in both academic studies and competition.
During a week of a camp, students will learn the rules and procedures of Congressional Debate and participate in a mock session of the US Senate. Students will focus on research, persuasive speaking, active listening, critical thinking, accurate and extensive note taking, and cross -examination. The camp instructor will also guide your student in techniques for developing poise, vocal variety, gestures, and eye contact.
If your child enjoys the 2020 Summer Camps at Speech and Debate Academy, we will accept your student in our Elementary Congressional Debate classes for the academic year, which will give your child the opportunity to further develop his/her skills and participate in 2020-21 school year competitive tournaments.
