His contributions to local law enforcement earned him a nod from KTVU, who profiled Kensic for a feature last week.

According to KTVU, Kensic volunteered to be a sketch artist despite not having any prior training. His sketches were amateurish at first. But after special forensic art classes, his drawings were so realistic that a task force agent was able to identify a home invasion suspect right away.

“We showed off Bob’s first sketch and he said, ‘Oh, that looks like such and such,’” Sgt. Brandon Hayward told KTVU.

That suspect, a minor, was subsequently identified by the victim and arrested.
