Man Hit By Car Last Week Dies in Hospital

A man critically injured last week after being struck by a car has succumbed to his injuries, according to relatives.
Michael N., a Union City Patch user who identified himself as the victim's brother, commented on the original article that the 54-year-old victim passed away Friday at 11:04 a.m. at Eden Medical Center.

The victim was hospitalized as he was walking near the intersection of Union City Boulevard and Horner Street at around 10:19 p.m., according to Union City police. Arriving officers found him lying in the street and transported him to a local trauma center.
According to police, the driver of the vehicle in the collision remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

However, the victim's brother is urging witnesses to come forward.
"Unless there are any witnesses, this comes down to the driver's story only," Michael N. wrote in a comment. "My brother is 54 years old and does not j-walk He was 2 blocks from home, was wearing dark clothes hard to see. I've seen many people run that intersections lights, just saying what I feel. I hope the Union city police does a complete investigation."
