Pedestrian Dies of Injuries Suffered Sunday
The victim has been identified as a Union City resident.
A 21-year-old pedestrian struck by a car in Union City on Sunday was pronounced dead later that day, police said.
The pedestrian, identified by police as Union City resident Pascual Alaniz Jr., was injured in the collision reported at 6:39 a.m. on Whipple Road near Liston Way.
A Chevrolet Cruz traveling east hit Alaniz, who was taken to a hospital and died there later Sunday, according to police. The Chevy driver was uninjured and cooperated with investigators. No other information about the collision was immediately available today.
