In time for the fall leagues, the field have reopened with beautiful new artificial turf.

UNION CITY, CA — A ribbon cutting ceremony has been held at Shorty Garcia Park in Union City, marking the completion of renovations that included the installation of new turf.

The old artificial turf, installed in 2004, had reached the end of it usefulness.

The project also included minor repairs to the existing underdrain system.
