Police Log: Man Arrested for Masturbating in Park
A summary of crimes and incidents recently reported in Union City.

The following is a summary of significant crime and incidents reported in Union City between Oct. 4 and 8 as released by the Union City Police Department. Reports have been lightly edited for Patch style.Â
Tuesday, Oct. 8
- Rough rider. A 39-year-old motorcyclist was arrested after trying to flee from an officer. The incident occurred at midnight when an officer witnessed the male suspect fail to stop at multiple stop signs on Clover Street. When the officer turned on his siren, the motorcyclist tried to flee. The driver ultimately lost control and drove onto the sidewalk at Decoto Road. The suspect was found in possession of a concealed dagger and burglary tools. He was subsequently arrested.

- Watch where you’re going. A driver collided with a bicyclist near Mission Boulevard and Whipple Road at about 8 a.m. The crash was captured on surveillance video. The video showed that the driver’s inattention contributed to the collision.
- Man arrested on suspicion of masturbating in park. Union City Public Works employees saw something they didn’t want to see at Contempo Park Sunday morning. Employees reported that a man was masturbating in the park on Meteor Drive at 10:49 a.m. Officers arrived to find 28-year-old Knanh Ho in a wooded area of the park. He was completely naked and surrounded by porno magazines, police said.
Friday, Oct. 4
- Home burglary on Willow Lane. Officers responded to a report of a home burglary on Willow Lane at 2:30 p.m. A witness reported five suspects loading a vehicle with stolen property. The suspects got into the vehicle and fled prior to officers arriving. The witness provided a license plate number for the suspect vehicle. A check revealed that the vehicle was stolen from San Bruno. All suspects were described as Hispanic males about 20 years old.
