Recycle Your Christmas Trees For Free In Union City
Tri-CED Community Recycling will pick up trees at no extra charge.

UNION CITY, CA -- Union City residents can dispose of their holiday trees for free during the rest of this month and next, city officials said. Tri-CED Community Recycling will pick up trees at no extra charge starting Tuesday until the end of January.
City officials are asking residents to place the tree at the curb or in the green organics cart and the tree will be taken to a facility to be composted.
City officials ask residents to prepare the tree for collection by removing tree stands, ornaments, tinsel and lights; by cutting the tree in half if it is more than 6 feet tall and by putting the tree out before 6 a.m.
on a regular pick up day.

Flocked trees and trees coated with fire retardant will be accepted but will not be composted. Artificial trees will not be accepted.
Anyone who misses the citywide collection can dispose of their tree by cutting it so it fits in the organics cart with the lid closed.
