Save Ramirez Farm and Peterson Farmhouse
Thank you from Elizabeth Ames, Write -in Candidate for District 2 County Supervisor
Dear Friends,
WE achieved 560 write-in ballots for Elizabeth Ames to be County Supervisor. THANKS to YOU--we can imagine change and a new future. The best kept secrets in Union City are the Ramirez Farm and a national cultural asset: the oldest farmhouse in Fremont and Union City--the Peterson Farmhouse on Quarry Lakes Drive. Sadly, Valle proclaimed the farm is just a cornfield.
The $300M East-West Connector would destroy our community 3 miles across Fremont and Union City. Shortly after World War II, “Lady Bird” Johnson fought highways from removing or destroying the integrity of historic properties and scenic areas. Don’t let this road carve our landscape.

Ramirez Farm, like Niles Canyon is on public land. These places have been unchanged for centuries with Alameda Creek original alignment still in place, un-channelized! If we expand Quarry Lakes Park, we could keep this area beautiful, easily accessible by car and by foot with no barrier-- the proposed East West Connector.
We will fight County Supervisor Valle and City of Union City Council to change the RAMIREZ FARM next to Quarry Lakes Regional Park into a medium-density housing complex, a 5-acre park flanked by a proposed 4-lane East-West Connector. This will cost the taxpayer over $300 million. Just imagine what we can do with $300M!
