Today is National Talk Like a Pirate Day. In honor of the day, Krispy Kreme is giving out a free dozen donuts to anyone dressed like a pirate.

It's not Halloween yet, but don't be alarmed if you see pirates roaming around Union Landing.

Today is national Talk Like a Pirate Day. Apparently, that's a real thing -- and it's serious business to Krispy Kreme.

Throughout the day, the popular donut chain is giving out a free original glazed donut to any landlubber speaking pirate lingo. To make it more interesting, Krispy Kreme upped the ante: a free dozen glazed donuts to anyone dressed in full pirate gear.

Throughout the morning, daring donut lovers -- including fellow Patch editor Amanda Aguilar --  have stopped by for their bounty.
